I have mixed feelings about this comic. It has a lot of small technical flaws, but overall it's good and nice to look at, even if it's not very funny. (This is because it's actually half of a comic - well, more like two-thirds of it - but I broke it into two and the punchline was left to the next one.)
I wanted to introduce Sam in a very badass manner, and wanted the explosion to make a shadow on his face, but didn't think I could pull it off. (Still don't.) Framing him, monochrome, against the red fire background does the trick for me, though.
Oh, and yeah, they are in Canada. Well, actually, a Canadian enclave in US territory, that was lost during the Great Hockey Wars of '98. I'll explain the whole thing someday maybe perhaps.
