Yes, frequently answered questions. No questions have been asked yet, so calling it frequently asked questions would be misleading. Still, these are the questions I think are in your minds.
What is this comic about?
Haven't you read the banners? We don't know what it's about, either.
It has to be about something.
Nope, it's not. It's not even like Seinfield, which was about nothing. It's not even about nothing.
Well, it has to have a theme of some sort.
Well, OK. I suppose you could say it's about a bunch of weird people that live in a mansion together for some reason. But I reserve the right to make completely random comics as well. Also, those two last "questions" of yours weren't really questions. Stick to the theme, here.
Who created this comic?
For the most part, I did. I was the one who said 'o letz make a comic lol!', I wrote these webpages where the html generator wouldn't, I draw every comic and I write several of them.
And who are you again?
Hello there. I am André Colabelli, a.k.a. The Random One. There's nothing very interesting about me, other than the fact that I have a webcomic, but you probably already know about it.
You say you created this comic 'for the most part'. Why?
I can't take full credit for it. Several people helped me with the creation. Most people just gave me a concept for their own character, but several of them wrote comics and series of comics. It's a collective work.
Their own character?
Yes. Ask me about how the comic came about.
*sigh* OK. How did the comic come about?
I'm glad you asked me that. I had a great idea for a webcomic. But I had no drawing skills, knew nothing of HTML, and didn't know how well I'd fare with updating and writing. So I thought I had to create another comic first in order to get used to it. I came up with an idea for a time-traveling comic, but couldn't pull it off as I wanted. Then, one day, I was struggling to think how I should do the comic, and at the same part taking part into something funny that was going on in a message board I used to go to. Then I realized, 'why not enlist some help to do the comic?' At that moment I decided to make the comic about the message board, and make each character a people who went there. Each person who was willing to join created their character and now we're writing stories about them.
So each character is an actual person?
Yes. At least, they are based on real people. Several of them, of course, are internet personas (personae?). I don't know any pirates or demons.
So, can you tell me these other people's names and stuff, or are you too stuck-up for that?
I'm not stuck up. I don't want to mention anyone's names without their permission. Some of them, I don't even know their real names. If they request they will be included.
Your art sucks!
Doesn't it? It'll only get better through practice. I'm a better writer than I'm an artist anyway, and the original intention was to have writing and drawing duties divided amongst all involved. In the end, though, I ended up being the only one to draw. Still, I think that good writing and a nice concept are better than the art itself, and that's what I aspire for.
You're awesome! Can I be your friend?
No. You're not awesome enough.
How do I contact you?
You don't. You're not cool enough. Well, you could send an e-mail to outofcharacter <dotty> comic <atty> gmail <dotty> com. I don't guarantee anyone will read it, though. You know how us webcomic artists are.
