Super Stition
(December 28th, 2007)

I have this superstition that, whatever I do at the end of the year, the opposite will happen all along the next year. For instance, if I can't find a place to sell ice cream, I will find plenty of places to buy ice cream all along the next year; however, if I find a wonderful new place that sells all sorts of candy, then next year will be a bad one for finding new places to buy great stuff. It's good because if something bad happens I feel good because it means such bad things won't happen during the upcoming year, and if I feel like doing something I know I shouldn't I feel I can do it because it means I won't give in to my temptations the next year. But then I started to find myself not doing things I wanted to do for fear that they wouldn't happen any more the next year. That was when I decided to drop this ridiculous superstition. But then I realized that if I did that I wouldn't be able to drop any superstitions the next year, so I decided to wait until the New Year to drop it.

That has nothing at all to do with the fact that the comic, while already drawn, has not been inked or post-produced, so it'll be up Saturday, but I thought it was a neat story.

PS. The image from the new pages that went up earlier this week should be showing now.

I Could be Drawing a Comic, But I'm Here, Working Honestly on a Website
(December 26th, 2007)

Ironic, isn't it? Maybe I'll actually finish drawing the comic today, since it's almost done (it's only missing a couple of simple panels) but it's gotten late because I was working on putting up more site content. Check the extras section.

Ho Ho Ho
(Christmas 2007)

How was your Christmas? Mine begun with a bunch of twits playing hideous loud music until four o'clock in the morning so yours must have been better. Merry Christmas, all!

The Holiday Cheer is Here!
(December 22nd, 2007)

Hey, check it out, the comic is here! The comic returned on mid to late December, on the week of the 17th, just as I had said! I AM A GOD AROUND WEBCOMIC ARTISTS.

There's nothing about the comic I need to say that I hasn't said already in the notes, so there you go.

Two things I need to say. To try to stop unumbered lists from being displayed like an idiot's use of the tab key I removed all references to it in the css. That may make all lists disappear or become the colour of the background. WOE IS ME. Also, if you liked the House filler, worry not, for I'll put the fillers page in the extras section after New Year's, as I had planned. I'm not on holidays, but I'll get a lot of free days now, so I'll prolly have time to clear all this up.

If you didn't like the House filler, though, FUCK YOU.

In the Magical Time of Christmas, Even Deadlines can be Met
(December 21st, 2007)

I will probably change the comic schedule to Fridays, but this week it'll be up on Saturday. Did I think I couldn't do it? I could, bitches.

We Apologize for the Inconvenience
(December 18th, 2007)

I read So Long and Thanks for All the Fish today. It's amazing I was able to read it on its entirety in one single day. I mean, even The Light Fantastic I was able to make last for like two days, and it's if nothing else, a much thinner volume. (When I read The Colour of Magic a few months ago, I was surprised to find how much it felt like Hitchhiker's. They both made fun of well-estabilished genres, both painted an unique and strange universe that's at once very strange and eerily familiar explained during extremely long asides from the main story, both had sarcasm, unexpected ending to sentences and thoughts and sudden author interruptions, and so on. The more I read Colour, the more it felt like Hitchhiker's, until it ended and I found out I had to buy the second book to know how the story ended proper. This may mean British authors are after me.)

I really only mention that because I'll update my main page and it should kick American Gods off the list, which is a shame since I really really liked it and I had to jump through quite a few hoops to acquire it.

So, you must be thinking, what about the comic. I'm very optimistic that it'll be up on Friday. You need to be very optimistic to believe it, since I haven't begun it at all.

In related news, I planned to do an overhaul to the site design when I returned from vacation, but it's obvious I won't have time. It's already begun, so I'll push it to next year. Happy New Year!

Back from a Nice Vacation
(December 12th, 2007)

Happy twelve twelve, everyone. It's going to be a blast five years from now. Anyway, I manage to solve the stuff I had done wrong before. Turns out <table> requires a closing tag for it, and just </td> won't cut it! Isn't that weird?

Enjoy the new siteface, then. Obviously, some things may not display properly. I'll fix them as time allows.

Holy crap, is December 17th next week already? The comic will return then. Honest..

Free, at last! Free!
(December 5th, 2007)

The css changes seemed to have gone through smoothly, save for some weirdness...es. And my college course's final presentation was yesterday, which means I'll now have all the time in the world to do what I like the best: play Starsiege: Tribes. Um, I mean, work on the comic. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I tried putting my twitter on the site, but I made some layout changes and it caused the footer to jump around, so I undid it. I also tried doing a rather... sneaky thing to the comics. See if you can figure it out. (If it doesn't actually work, it'll involve some mind reading.)

I haven't drawn any comics ahead of time as I planned, but, um I might? Regardless, the comic will return mid december, as promised, probably on the week of the 17th.

I vaguely remember having a webcomic
(November 19th, 2007)

Yeah, so, I didn't actually work on the comic as I promised I would. Sue me. I did read a lot of webcomics these past weeks, so that counts as research, right? But, now I'm working on the css stylesheet, which means the site display may grow weird over the next few days. No one's reading it any more, hopefully. :-/

Hiding Just Beyond the Horizon of Your Senses
(November 5th, 2007)

I didn't do much for the comic this week, and really didn't plan to. I'll work on a cute banner to post on places first. For now, I cleaned up the second article page, for what it's worth.

Mortals' Time is Useless in Here
(October 31st, 2007)

Remember that article that I promised you for yesterday. It went online yesterday. Well, it should have, unless the updater freaked out again. It's the last thing I'm doing for the site in what may be a while, so enjoy it throughly.

Well, What?
(October 30th, 2007)

The system didn't update yesterday's comic and news automatically for whatever reason. I'll run an auto-updater, that should fix it.

Oh, and I just created a twitter. I'll prolly hook it up to the webpage with one of those twitting thingamajigs, but until then you can see me talk about how I can't hook my twitter to my site with one of those thingamajigs. And it's written entirely in haiku

Cheers.

And I Was Thinking to Myself, This Could be Heaven or This Could be Hell
(October 29th, 2007)

I broke my foot. Got a work leave, and so will stay home for, at the very least, the next fifteen days. (This could be trouble and even mean I'd be laid off if I wasn't a public servant, the most intrinsically lazy profession there is.) So, you might think, that means you'll have plenty of time to work on the comic and can call off the hiatus, yes? And I reply, no, it means I'll have more time to work on college stuff that just came up and be miserable over how I take fifteen minutes to get to the bathroom and can't wash my own ass.

That article is going up, though. Trust me. Tomorrow. Today I'm zzzzz.

Not So Great News: There Actually Are News
(October 25th, 2007)

Yeah, I know I told you I'd talk about the hiatus Tuesday, but a biker hit my mom's car and we had to go to the police and shit. (I don't have an excuse for yesterday, though. I just remember going from "I need to update the site" to "I'm glad there's nothing else I need to do!" without doing anything. Weird.)

So, yeah, I'm going on a hiatus as of next week. (You could say that I'm already on hiatus, but technically it doesn't start until next week.) I won't give you the age-old excuse of "needing to recharge my creative batteries" because my creative batteries need no recharging at all, because there are over twenty comics already created and ready to draw. I could say my drawing batteries need recharging, but I wouldn't describe them as batteries as much as rusty steam engines. And not cool steampunk steam engines, even. Sigh.

That doesn't mean I'm abandoning the site. Quite the contrary, actually. I'm going on hiatus so I can figure out what's the best way I can draw the comics on time. I probably will change the day I update; if I really can't keep up, I'll make it biweekly. (As in, updating once every two weeks. Biweekly apparently also means updating twice a week, which is what I wish I'd do, but definitively won't.) Reducing the comic output is a positively ultimate measure, as I think even once a week is way too little (see comment about over twenty comics above) but is as often as I can (could?) churn them out; however, since as it standing I'm pretty much updating once every two weeks anyway, I might as well stick to it if I can't dance around it.

I'll also work on the site itself. I'll build the Characters section, since the "we haven't even introduced all the characters yet!" thing isn't true anymore (we haven't introduced all the characters yet, but we surely have introduced enough), rewrite the FAQ, try to fix some minor design stuff I'm hating, and try and meddle with the css so the site looks pretty-er. And blacker. I'm pretty sure blacker, at least, I can manage. I'll also do a better banner (one with less cut and paste) and all the other things ComicGenesis comics should have. Lastly, I'll keep posting on the news as I change stuff, so you can hold me dear to your heart and know I haven't abandoned you yet.

That's all. Now get the fuck out of my website and LEAVE ME ALOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!

Great News: No News
(October 22nd, 2007)

There are things I'd like to tell you about the hiatus, but I don't feel like it right now. It's not officially starting until next week. I'll give you the bottom line of what I was going to say, tho: I'm not just going to disappear.

Never mind what today's comic's notes may say.

Better Late Than Even More Late
(October 21st, 2007)

Like last week, the comic will go up on the right day, but late. Unlike last week, though, it's almost done, but what remains to be done is complex enough that I'd rather do it right tomorrow, with a fresh mind, than half-assedly today. Also, a thunderstorm is approaching, and since my no-break does in fact allow breaking (I mean... never mind) it'll be safer to shut down the computer.

But, tomorrow. Fo' real.

Ballad of the Eternally Late Webcomic Artist
(October 16th, 2007)

Well fuck. After I worked my ass off and went to bed late so the comic could be up on time, turns out that I misnamed the files so the system didn't recognize them as yesterday's and didn't update. All that work for nothing. Well, here's your comic now.

I don't care what you say, it was posted on time. Look at the date. It's the correct date, right? That means it was posted on the correct date! Any claims to the contrary are slanders by the opposition and crimethink not minilove rectified.

Also, I realized I stopped signing off my news with an emote and my alias. That's OK because it was lame, yes?

I hate you all.
(October 15th, 2007)

Yes, every time I check the site there's a small error with the news file. What the fuck?

As I type this, it's 23:51 of Monday, October 15th at GMT -3, which is my time zone (including DST, which started yesterday) so the comic went up on time.

Now let me go to sleep!

As pontual as a Swiss watch. I meant, Dutch.
(October 14th, 2007)

The comic is drawn and has already been scanned. That's good! But I won't be able to clean it up on the computer on time. That's bad! But it will be up Monday, as it's meant to. That's good! But it will be up very late on Monday. That's bad.

In my defense, the comic was very complex to draw, longer than usual, and totally ACTION-PACKED (for this comic's standarts, anyway - it does have an exploding helicopter). It's also a two-parter. But I think that I wouldn't have been able to draw it on time even if it was simple. The job has been screwing up my schedule, and the time I have to draw has dwindled to next to none. In adition, I have obligations at college - I could have been doing the post-production for the past hour, but I had to work on a college work due tomorrow - early tomorrow, not anytime tomorrow and who's gonna care if it's not there at all.

Bottom line: I'm considering putting the comic on hiatus. For about two months, until I'm through with college and, hopefully, gotten used to my working hours. That's the bad news (wait, did I already do this joke? Oh, no, it was slightly different. It's OK then.) The good news is that I'll take the time to work on the site design so it's a bit more me, try to learn css (by my patented method of staring at code until it makes sense), create the characters section, and draw a few comics ahead of time so I'm not so constantly slumped. I'll do this after the current two-parter ends. I haven't decided on that yet, but since there aren't many readers right now (are there any?) I feel it's better to do this now then just have a nervous breakdown after I advertised the comic and gained half a dozen readers at much cost.

Oh, and I didn't forget I promised you an article. It'll go up before the hiatus. Srsly.

Unhaaaapy, very very unhaaaapy...
(October 7th, 2007)

Ugh. No comic today. No filler either. That is because I hate you all.

No, not really. I didn't finish the comic on time. Maybe I could have, but I wasn't feeling one hundred percent today. As for the lack of filler... I can't explain, I just don't feel like putting up filler again.

Next week there will be a comic for sure, and I'll try to put up an article as well.

Oh, and the kitty filler was removed from the archives. Don't worry, though - I'll create a filler section in the extras in the nearby future.

They said I was crazy... But I showed them!
(September 30th, 2007)

Looks like every time I open up the news file I find a small error with the last piece of news. Eh. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that, against all odds, I actually finished tomorrow's comic on time. Who would have thought. I certainly wouldn't.

Webcomic Design in the Winter
(September 28, 2007)

A drop on my head
Hope it's beginning to rain
If not, it's bird shit

Ahem. Right now, I'm simultaneously regretful that I haven't even begun to draw the next comic and optimistical that I'll be able to draw it on time for Monday. The fact that I now have broadband internet should mean I no longer have the need to spend all weekends logged on (since it was the only time I could use my dial-up freely), but old habits die hard. Since I don't want to keep the kitty filler any longer than necessary and I'm not going to just put up two fillers back-to-back, I have no choice other than to actually finish it on time anyway.

Seven o' clock and aaaaall's fiiiiiiine!
(September 24, 2007)

All of the site's html problems are finally fixed! Hooray! Now to hope I can actually draw a comic in time for the next update...

Seven days at work make one weak.
(September 23, 2007)
If you were paying any attention at all to the news, you'd be expecting there to be no comic today. And, there isn't. I didn't have the time to do much this week, and what little time I had went to fixing the glitches the site redesign brought about. The last ones are probably fixed now. Maybe not.

At any rate, I changed the update to Mondays rather than Sundays. The comic was already being uploaded so late on Sundays that it'd be better to read it on Mondays anyway, and now I trust the uploader enough to, if nothing else, date the comics accordingly.

Just so you don't say I never gave you anything, I'll put up some filler tomorrow. This is half to appease you, my loyal half dozen readers, and half to see if uploading a new comic will fix the glitches that aren't related to HTML. And I'm so cool I also fixed the extras pages so that the large pics can be seen normally (or tried to, anyway).

In a completely unrelated matter, I started a Twitter last week. Deleted it within a minute. I played to post entirely in haikus, which would be rather hard with line breaks disallowed.

Good news! It's a suppository!
(September 17, 2007)
Like all cool kids, I once dreamed I could be a game developer. I dreamed of creating a browser-based wonder and have people be amazed at how great a game creator I was. The thing that made me give up was the fact that I couldn't find webspace for it in hell (well, I could find it in hell, but the hosting costs would be my soul, and I have plans for it) but now I think I should have persevered at least until the multiple glitches in the software caused me to give up. I say that because the pages that I put up yesterday were riddled with small errors, which wouldn't be so bad if I at least had had the time to replace them before they stayed up for a whole day wrong. The most affected area was the Extras section, which fortunately couldn't be accessed at all thus sparing viewers of the other broken things in it. The article looked ugly (never trust MS Word to create your HTML for you, but do trust Notepad to fix it for you) and there were several small glitches and broken images. Hopefully they'll be up correctly this time.

Oh, and today was my first day of work like ever, but none of you should care about that.

Words of wisdom: Only when your mouse starts to fail you realize how many keyboard shortcuts you know.

The first news had no title
(September 16, 2007)
So, I decided to turn the site into an actual site. Isn't that awesome - to the max? Maybe one day all webcomic sites will - wait, I used that joke in today's comic already. Anyway, some of it is just placeholder stuff, but at least there's an article for you to read if you're waiting for a particularly large image to load or something.

Maybe someday in the future I will actually learn css and change the colors of the site to reflect my awesome personality. So far I'm glad I can correctly call it css and not ccs.
